Dear Khalid,

Well done on voting. I think the struggle of the Iraqi people in the face of brutal terrorism will deliver good results in the long term.

Excellent. Glad you had the chance to cast your vote.

Quick question, if you don't mind:

Was there a referendum on the Status of Forces Agreement held on the same day as the parliamentary election? I know that was the orginal plan but I can't find any mention of it in all the election coverage.

Thanks and best wishes.

Dear JG,

Thank you for your visit and kind wishes.

As to your questions, the referendum did n't take place on the same day as the general election because the majority members of the parliament felt there is no need for it once they, the people's representatives approved it and that's why the referendum did n't take place as planed and mentioned in the agreement on the 30 of July 2009.

Thanks,
